Class conference: Mon Dec 10, 1:00-3:00 pm in Rashid Auditorium (GHC 4401).

Final report due: Thurs Dec 13 at midnight. Email one copy per project to your TA mentor, with the Professor cc'd. In addition, submit a copy of your final report on Gradescope.

Overall project grading rubric:
Milestone 1 10%
Milestone 2 15%
Reviews 4%
Poster or spotlight 26%
Final report 45%
Total 100%
(Extra credit for spotlight 5%)

Conference (poster or spotlight):

Your poster or spotlight should present all aspects of your project. That is, it should motivate your problem, describe your solution, and display your results. Posters: you will have about 4 minutes to give your pitch to the Professor/TAs. Spotlights: you will have 8 minutes to give your talk.

Please be sure that you clearly present the connection of your project to optimization and the concepts you learned from class. You should state what work is your own and reference prior work that you build on. Be sure that all your figures are clear, using large lines, and labeled in a big font.

Poster boards will be 40 in x 30 in, so you should print no larger than that; ideally you would print a poster that is slightly smaller. For students with an SCS account, you can find information on printing posters here.

Final report:

Your write up should be in the style of a research article that you would submit to a conference or a journal. Be sure that you clearly present the connection of your project to optimization and the concepts you learned from class. You should state what work is your own and reference prior work that you build on. Also be sure that all your figures are clear and (if intended) are of high-enough resolution to see fine details. The report should be limited to 8 pages, excluding references (no appendix allowed), and should be in NIPS 2018 style.

Again, please email one copy of your final report per project to your TA mentor, with the Professor cc'd. Also, submit a copy of your final report on Gradescope.
