Summary: In this paper, you introduce a specific phenomena (dopamine loss) that potentially influences the progression of Parkinson disease. This work involves understanding the disruption in normal brain activity caused by the dysfucntional neuronal activity caused by the loss of dopamine. You have summarized the results from previous works that have shown that there is increased oscillatory activity compared to healthy brain (?!) which is rythmic in behavior when there is loss of dopamine. Understanding the rythmicity of brain activity as the disease progresses using data from experiments in mice is the goal of this work. Data for this study is collected from a specific brain region associated with motor function using awake mice . Preprocessing of the raw spike channel signals collected from the mice as electro-physiological recordings is needed to get the spike train. This is done via i. spike detection and ii. spike sorting.
