Fri Mar 11 08:51:10 2016 Hi Joel, I have a conflict with the Friday session, so perhaps not. Do the MSP's have actual work that they are writing up now, and do they already know about IMRaD? An approach that would mimic what I did in the writing mini would take 3.5-ish hours over a 2.5 week period, presumes that they're coming in with something already written, and focuses on revising for clarity/readability. Something like this, if it were a regular MWF class: Wed: introduce and provide evidence for G&S and writing from the reader's perspective; assign G&S for Fri do naive writing workshop in class Fri: elaborate; assign multiple peer reviews of their current draft papers (maybe only one section of each paper, due in a week) (Mon/Weds: other topics) Fri: do informed (as opposed to naive) writing workshop; maybe discuss a couple papers and peer reviews submitted assign "revise your paper and respond to your referees" (due in a week) (Mon/Weds: other topics) Fri: one more informed writing workshop; maybe discuss a couple of revised papers I wonder if Joanna/GCC could help with that? You would be there to reassure that the statistical content matters, and Joanna could do the formal presentations and help with pointers on structural issues. best, -BJ On 3/10/2016 9:16 PM, Joel Greenhouse wrote: > Brian, > > In the past I have asked the GCC to do an interactive workshop on > Gopen and Swan with the MSPs.
