--------

From Trochim:

  A. Chapter 3 - the vocabulary of measurement 
          
  B. Chapter 5 - on constructing scales (it's ok to focus
      on the material up through sect 5.2a; the rest is
      more of a skim)

  Essentially the same material can be found online at 
  http://www.socialresearchmethods.net/kb/measure.php

  I mostly want you to read these Trochim chapters for vocabulary.  

In addition please read:

  CTT-formulas.pdf
  harris-article.pdf

  which can be found in the "Readings" subdirectory of this directory.

  Both are somewhat mathy, but they are two of the better
  introductions to everyday psychometric tools that I know of (in one
  case, because I wrote it!).  I'll be happy to discuss them in class.

Data Analysis

In the "Data" subdirectory of this directory you will find:

Stampfer Pre and Post data - revised.csv
stampfer-analysis.r

I will do some of the analysis detailed here in class on Tues, but you
are more than welcome to try it yourself over the weekend, in order to
have good questions to ask during class.
