Please find attached a short grading sheet on your progress report presentations last week. Each team member gets a group score (out of 70) plus a personal score (out of 30). The score for each team member, out of 100, is listed at the bottom of the sheet. The 2nd midterm is being graded and I hope to hand that back to you next Tues Apr 20. Also on Tues Apr 20 we are having a guest presentation by Moira Burke and Robert Kraut of CMU's Human-Computer Interaction Institute, on survey research on Facebook. Final presentations begin Thur Apr 22. The order of the presentations will be as follows (by random draw in R!): Thu Apr 22 [1,] "Group G" (student fees) [2,] "Group E" (innovation) [3,] "Group A" (course archives) Tue Apr 27 [4,] "Group H" (pizza) [5,] "Group C" (UC athl fac) [6,] "Group F" (safewalk) Thu Apr 29 [7,] "Group D" (seniors) [8,] "Group I" (bikes) [9,] "Group B" (CMU dining) As before, please email me your presentation by noon before the class in which you present. Final presentations are also 20 min/group, with a few minutes at the end for questions. You can abbreviate the details about sample size calculation, lists of sample questions, and so forth, from the beginning of your progress report talk, so that you have more time to talk about results of your survey, estimates of population quantities based on your survey results, and any general conclusions, generalizations, inferences, etc. that you can make about your target population. If you would like to take a slide to talk about lessons learned for doing a project like this, that would be fine too. I am still grading your drafty draft papers but I hope to have them back to you by the end of the weekend. Final papers are due to me in email by Fri Apr 30 (midnight). Meeting of the Minds is May 5. Groups that are presenting in MoM should receive (or have received) info about it from the MoM organizers. NOTE: If you are presenting a poster for your 303 project at MoM, please make it with powerpoint or a similar tool. I will be sending you information about making your poster, and printing it for free, shortly. all best, -BJ
