HW = average of your 4 hw scores (on blackboard) exam1 = first midterm score exam2 = second midterm score MOM: if MoM = Y, I double-counted your high exam score and dropped your lower one. ctzn = (see below) ph.1 = average of I.1-I.4 project scores (on blackboard) ph.2 = average of II.5a, II.5b and II.6 project scores (on blackboard) ph.3 = (see below) For ctzn (citizenship): * you got 70 points if you turned in peer evaluations * you got 10 more points for each of three times during the semester that I took careful attendance in class (you were in class or arranged your absence in advance with me) so the total possible is 100. ph.3 = (talk1 + talk2 + 4*paper)/6 where 'talk1' and 'talk2' are your scores on the two presentations, and 'paper' is your final paper score (all on blackboard). [this means that each talk was worth 5% of your final grade, and your final paper was worth 20% of your final grade.] These were used in a weighted average with weights as prescribed in the syllabus: hw exam1 exam2 ctzn ph.1 ph.2 ph.3 20% 15% 1% 10% 5% 5% 30% to produce a "semester score" for you. Letter grades were determined as follows: Score Range Letter Grade Number given 90-100 A 17 80-89 B 16 65-79 C 3 50-64 D 2 0-49 R 1 have a great summer! -BJ
