Here is a tentative schedule for Bob Groves's Visit to CMU on March 25: 8am Arrive at Pittsburgh International Airport [Should we arrange for a limo to pick bob up and take him to CMU?] 9-10 AM Meet in the Statistics Department Lounge, 132 Baker-Porter Hall for coffee and/or breakfast with Bill Eddy, Joel Greenhouse, Steve Fienberg, and Brian Junker 10:30-11:50am Presentation/Discussion in Freshman census seminar [226 Baker-Porter Hall] [This is a small class but we'll also invite some other undergrads and a few grad students] Noon-1pm Major Campus Presentation in University Center for entire CMU community [ it is a 450 seat auditorium and we are hoping for a large turnout, possibly including media and people from the local census office] 1-2pm Reception and informal lunch with students 2-3pm Time set aside for interviews with TV, radio and newspaper reporters 3pm until departure Visit with undergraduate sampling class taught by Brian Junker. Questions/Issues: 1. One of my students asks: Will the Director arrive in one of the traveling census 2010 cars? 2. I have presumed that allowing time for media is important. We can invite them to campus and/or co-ordinate with the folks in the local Census Office. 3. Do you have precise times for arrival and departure at the airport? 4. Who will arrange for transportation to and from campus? ====================================================
