If you can get the data, #1 is also very interesting. #2 is not bad, but it might be the hardest to do well. please let me know in email what you choose. 1. Analysis of Carnegie Mellon Undergrad Prospects After Graduation Statistics A. Interest. 10/10 49/50 ok B. Research Questions. 10/10 ok. given that you plan to study administrative records retrospectively, you should be able to answer questions like these. C. References. 5/5 ok D. Sampling Frame 8/8 ok E. Target Population 7/8 ok. note that graduates who do not report back to CMU are one source of coverage error F. Mode of Data Collection 5/5 so, looking at CMU administrative records do you have access to these records yet? is it feasible to get access? G. Important Variables 4/4 ok 2. People's Satisfaction with Services that Port Authority Provides 49 (off campus) A. Interest. 10/10 ok B. Research Questions. 10/10 ok C. References. 4/5 one reference missing D. Sampling Frame 8/8 ok. Note that by sampling only people at bus stops, you will be missing anyone who has decided not to rely on the buw (because service is too unreliable for them, service does not extend to their home neighborhood, etc.). you would need to discuss this in a final report. However, given that your target population is all oakland bus users, your approach to sampling is fine. E. Target Population 8/8 ok good F. Mode of Data Collection 5/5 ok. I am assuming that the main units for your study are people. G. Important Variables 4/4 ok 3. Pedestrian Circulation Throughout Carnegie Mellon Campus (on campus) 50 A. Interest. 10/10 ok B. Research Questions. 10/10 looks good C. References. 4/5 only 4 team members represented D. Sampling Frame 8/8 excellent description E. Target Population 8/8 this is fine. one very interesting aspect of this survey is that a big part of the report should be about people who *don't* show up at the locations and times you will observe (obviously a big part of the report will also be about people who *do* show up!). This is important because it is just as important for someone setting up a table, booth or other advertisement on campus to know who they are *not* reaching, as it is to know who they *are* reaching. F. Mode of Data Collection 5/5 good description. Unlike most surveys, it may be of interest for you to allow the same people to be in your survey more than once. For example, it might be useful to know that some people pass by important locations on campus more than once (and how many times). G. Important Variables 4/4 ok
