Ron started his Ph.D. in 2017. He received his B.S. in Statistics at Carnegie Mellon in December 2015. At CMU he was a founding member of the Carnegie Mellon Sports Analytics Club, for which he is now the graduate student advisor. Ron previously worked as a baseball operations data and analytics intern for the Pittsburgh Pirates during the 2014 season, as well as a quantitative analyst in the financial services industry. In January 2018 he started his Advanced Data Analysis project with Rebecca Nugent on the reproducibility of data science workflows and analyzing text to understand how different students learn statistics.
